What is Amoxil

When used, Amoxil has a bactericidal effect on the pathogenic microflora due to the inhibition of the synthesis of the cell wall in its later stages. As a result of irreversible structural disturbances, the pathogen dies. It is very quickly and completely absorbed in the stomach, weakly bound to blood proteins, due to which it is effective in lower doses than drugs based on other antibiotics.

The component of the drug is completely soluble in aqueous solutions at physiological pH values. Amoxicillin is well absorbed when taken orally. Peak concentration in blood serum is reached 1 hour after administration. The absorption of the drug Amoxil improves with its use at the beginning of a meal. Doubling the dose of amoxil leads to a doubling of its concentration in the blood serum. About 70% of the drug remains in the free state in blood serum.

Amoxil is an effective treatment for infectious and inflammatory diseases of various localization and severity: infections of the respiratory tract, ENT organs, genitourinary system, biliary tract, bacterial endocarditis, septicemia. It is prescribed for typhoid fever, salmonellosis. In severe mixed infections, this drug is recommended to be used in combination with aminoglycosides, cephalosporins.
